Mounting the scaffold arm mechanism is a simple one-man activity. The walking planks are LVL (laminated veneer lumber) so they have very little bounce to them.

The scaffold moves up and down using a combination of foot pumps and hand cranking. I was surprised to find that going up is much easier than coming down.
